GROW YOUR BUSINESS AND CHANGE THE WORLD WITH CARTIER!

Cartier and Global Venture Alliance are inviting women impact entrepreneurs to participate in the preselection stage for the 15^th Cartier Women's Initiative international program. The winner will be awarded US$ 100,000 and a training course in one of the most coveted business schools worldwide.

Founded in 2006, Cartier Women's Initiative is an annual program for women impact entrepreneurs. It aims to provide women with the necessary financial, social and human capital support for the growth of their businesses worldwide.

Who is this for?

We are looking for women-run and women-owned businesses that demonstrate the potential for substantial growth in the upcoming years. This will become a unique opportunity for the women impact entrepreneurs to give their business the necessary boost and take it to the next level.

What does the winner of Cartier Women's Initiative get?

Up to $100 000 in prize money

You'll receive $30 000 - $100 000 for the development of your project

Education in INSEAD business school

You'll get a fully funded fellowship for the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Executive Education Programme

International community of women entrepreneurs

You will get a chance to engage with the greater entrepreneurial ecosystem of Cartier Women's Initiative

Coaching program

Your project will receive a year-long 1:1 support from a business coach

What are the eligibility criteria for the businesses?

At least one of the top-management positions is held by a woman and she must also own significant stake within the company.

The company generated income during the recent year.

The company is in the early stages of development — 1-5 years.

It contributes to one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Nanobarrier — Retail Brand HYDROP, Russia

Problem. The textile industry is the second most polluting industry, after oil, because 25% of the world's chemicals are used for textile production, but most people wear only around 20% of their wardrobe.
Solution. Using Nanobarrier HYDROP means clothes don't need to be thrown out just because they are stained; promoting the 'slow fashion' movement of saving and caring for products and buying less.

Problem. Textile production is the second biggest polluter in the world with one T-shirt taking 700 gallons of water to produce.
Solution. Queen of Raw created an online marketplace for businesses to. buy and sell sustainable and deadstock fabrics and textiles so as to recapture value from their wasted materials rather than burning them.

Problem. Breast cancer is the most common cancer amongst women worldwide, with nearly 1.7 million new cases diagnosed in each year. Major advances in treatment mean that breast cancer survival is increasingly likely; however for women who have been through this ordeal, there are many major lifestyle changes that need to be made that are not often considered by lingerie manufacturers.
Solution. THEYA Healthcare post surgery bras & briefs were designed with input from 80 breast cancer patients, the bamboo range is soft, breathable and proven antibacterial. It is ideal for women who have undergone any kind of breast surgery and/or are receiving radiotherapy/chemotherapy.

Problem. The Chinese economy has kept soaring for over 30 years, but Chinese people still feel shame when talking about money-related topics and millions of families are cheated by financial crimes and loan frauds.
Solution. Veryfq specializes in improving financial literacy in wealthy as well as poor Chinese students through workshops delivered by part-time trainers.

Problem. In Northern Europe, only one third of women actively invest and 70% of the finance industry is owned by men.
Solution. Female Invest seeks to educate women on investing and to employ more women in the financial industry by organizing financial educational training for women through physical events like conferences and workshops and online courses via a membership model.

Problem. Counterfeit medication make up one of the fastest growing underground industries. Annually, counterfeits result in $1.8 trillion in financial damages and a death toll of 1 million lives.
Solution. IDLogiq empowers patients with the ability to proactively verify and authenticate their medication prior to purchasing by providing alerts, video tutorials, language translations, detection of possible medication abuse and drug-on-drug interactions.

Spica Tech, Lebanon

Problem. When parents fret over the hours their children spend playing video games, they could take a leaf out of Reine Abbas's book: teach them how to create them instead.
Solution. Spica Tech academy that teaches children aged 4 to 16 the skills they need to make video games, from logic and coding to design, storytelling, implementation and testing.

Which are the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

The SDGs are a collection of 17 global goals designed to be a "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all". The goals are broad based and include areas from quality education and clean water and sanitation to decent work and reducing inequalities.
